MISSION OF CCSAR

“...to inform community interventions and educational practice and policy through action and investigative research activities, thereby promoting educational improvement and children’s health and safety, resulting in optimal student development and high levels of achievement.”

Center for Community and School Action Research (CCSAR) is a research, evaluation and training center located on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University(SCSU) in Davis Hall, Room 110. CCSAR is also a sanctioned center within the Connecticut State University System.

CCSAR conducts research and evaluation on various programs, interventions and initiatives that impact children and communities. We assist private and public entities to inform and improve educational practices, policies and community interventions.

Since its inception in 1998, CCSAR has received grants and contracts to conduct program evaluation and research on programs and interventions totaling more than $1,000,000.

CCSAR’s evaluation team consists of experienced evaluators with expertise in research and evaluation at the local, state and federal levels. In addition, CCSAR’s unique location at Southern Connecticut State University allows for access and support from a wealth of resources, e.g., faculty, consultants, administration, etc. CCSAR is also one of the few centers authorized by the CSU Board of Trustees to become an established center within the CSU system.
